The Arc of Southeast Iowa Summer Camp Programs

The Arc’s summer camp programs are designed for school-aged children with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.

Daily Activities, field trips and an on-site fully accessible playground

Highly trained staff, scheduled at a 1:1 or 2:1 student/staff ratio with an on-site supervisor

Camp Sessions in 2017

Session One: June 5th through June 30th

Session Two: July 10th through August 4th


LITTLE TYKES CAMP

Who: Children ages 4-10

Where: Campers meet at the Bill Reagan Children’s Center located in the lower level of the Arc administrative office, 2620 Muscatine Ave. Iowa City, IA 52240

When: 12:30-4:30pm

*Camp is staffed at a 1:1 ratio


TWEEN CAMP

Who: Children ages 9-13

Where: Campers meet at Grace Community Church, 2707 Dubuque St NE, North Liberty, IA 52317

When: 9:30am-4:30pm

*Camp is staffed at a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio


TEEN CAMP

Who: Children ages 13-23

Where: Campers meet at Mercer Aquatic Center, 2701 Bradford Dr. Iowa City, IA 52240

When: 9:301m-4:30pm

*Camp is staffed at a 2:1 ratio


SCHEDULE, ACCOMODATIONS & ACTIVITIES

A weekly schedule is given to guardians to accommodate for appropriate attire and supplies for activities. Generally, campers will need sunscreen, swimming trunks/suit, a towel, change of clothes, snacks and medication.

Camp assignment can be accommodated based on needs and interest of the child.

AM child care will be available for Tween & Teen campers who need to be dropped off prior to the 9:30am start of camp 7:30-9:30am. PM child care will be available for any camper who needs to be picked up after 4:30pm from 4:30-6:00pm. Both will be provided in the BRCC (lower level of The Arc)


How Much is tuition?

Tuition for each student is determined using a sliding scale that times into account family income level and size of household. Scholarships, grant programs and waiving funding are available to those who qualify.

HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD?

Priority registration is open April 3rd-7th. Registration is open to the general public on April 10th. Registration will be closed once capacity for each location has been mot or on April 28th. Contact the Camp Coordinator, Ryan Markle at The Arc
