Recognition, awards, and celebrations for individuals and families are at the heart of what we do. These events provide time to be thankful for anniversaries, growth, and accomplishments. Following are some of The Arc celebrations.

ADA Celebration

Yearly awareness event celebrating the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) being signed into legislation. The event is typically hosted on a Saturday in late July, close to the signing date of July 26. The event is held 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Iowa City Pedestrian Mall. The celebration features an information fair, speakers, award presentations, entertainment, and performances. The celebration is free and open to the public.

Annual Celebration

A yearly event celebrating accomplishments and providing recognition of clients, families, staff, donors, community partners, and champions of The Arc of Southeast Iowa.

Holiday Party

A festive, annual event for Arc clients, families, staff, and friends of The Arc. Light refreshments, fellowship, and entertainment with a surprise visit from Santa.

Journey of Hope Friendship Visit

Every year we welcome the Journey of Hope cyclists, all members of the Pi Kappa Phi national fraternity, to Iowa City. They ride more than 12,000 miles to spread a message of acceptance and understanding for people with disabilities. We traditionally host the team for a pizza party dinner with our clients, families, staff, and friends of The Arc.
